The Gardens Sports US Figure Skating Learn to Skate Program, taught by The Chesapeake Skating School, has been formed to provide and fun, safe atmosphere for all students (Age 3 and above) to learn how to ice skate.

Program started at The Gardens Ice House for returning Wounded Warriors featured on NBC Evening News with Brian Williams.

Tuesday March 9, 2009 in the segment "Making A Difference" the Wounded Warrior hockey program was featured. Please follow the link for the two minute segment. This program was started with the assistance of the Gardens Ice House who gave the initial ice requirement last summer. The two major owners of the rink, Tom Hendrix and Clai Carr both served in the US Army and saw this as a small way in which they could say thank you to returning wounded soldiers.
